PUBLIC ART AND DESIGN
Arts Council for Long Beach, in partnership with the Redevelopment Agency of Long Beach works in a collaborative manner to ensure that the process for administering, selecting, and implementing civic art through the city’s one-percent art policy is successfully accomplished. Through the one-percent art policy and design program, site-specific, permanent and temporary civic artworks and projects are commissioned to eradicate blight, enhance the urban landscape, and improve the appearance of both public and private spaces. The Public Art and Design Program also hosts lectures and professional development workshops to promote awareness of the value of public art and provide skills for artists interested in the field.
